Nogales Transit Feasibility Review and Implementation Plan: The Arizona Department of Transportation and the City of Nogales have joined together to explore the feasibility of initiating public transportation within the City. Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates has been hired to assist with this effort. Public input has been and will continue to be a critical component for the Nogales Transit Feasibility Review and Implementation Plan. The project’s third public workshop will be held at Nogales City Hall, 777 North Grand Avenue on Tuesday, August 29, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. This meeting will focus on developing a personality for the proposed transit system that reflects the unique character of Nogales. Attendees will discuss potential names, logos, colors, and design for the buses, shelters, maps, and other system elements. The Project Team will offer ideas for each item, but hopes the public will provide their input and feel true ownership towards the transit system. "I encourage the residents of Nogales to participate in this public meeting. We are making progress toward accomplishing our goal of having a reliable transit system, and we need your ideas," said Council Member Armando Lopez. He added, "This system will be used by Nogales residents and visitors, so I would like to take this opportunity to invite the people of Ambos Nogales to give us their input on the proposed Transit System."
