The plans examiner reviews construction documents submitted for residential homes, commercial and industrial projects, tenant improvements and miscellaneous structures. He is responsible for approving these construction documents for compliance to applicable building codes and assisting the permit technician in computing permit fees, which are based on the building’s valuation. The plans examiner also assists the general public and design professionals with interpretations of adopted city building codes and ordinances. A plan review fee of 65% of the building permit fee is assessed, except single-family residence valued under $100,000.00 will be assessed a plan review fee of 25% of the building permit fee.
